TRAINER

Name: Maxwell Hank Allen (Max)

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Height: 6' even

Personality: Max is easiest to describe as quirky, but that's also a pretty general way of putting it. Having grown up in a circus that traveled constantly, he's a bit of a free spirit, enjoying to explore and have fun. Growing up in this environment has also made him quite the character. Guiniveve, his Froslass, often taunts him by calling him a drama queen, but despite his dislike for the term it's fairly accurate. Really though, he's just overly expressive and a bit flamboyant with his actions, in a dramatic sort of way. He'd make a good actor. Max tends to stay happy and aloof most of the time but just like everyone else, he has his down moments, and when he does, they're down moments. And, when it comes to battling, he can get rather serious at times.

Also important to take note of are his flirtatious tendencies, spawning from who knows where. Max does manage to have some charm, though, occasionally managing to actually pick up a date. Occasionally. Often times, seeing as he has a hard time taking no for an answer, he ends up with a red hand print on his face, and a broken ego. No need to worry, though... His ego heals fast.

Brief History: Max's parents belonged to a traveling circus, of which his father was the ring master and his mother an acrobat, which traveled through the Sinnoh region. It's this environment that he grew up in, constantly moving from place to place, and it's part of what made him the quirky guy he is today. He loved every bit of his life with the circus. When he was 15, however, there was a disastrous accident that ended in the circus tent catching fire and the death of his mother, and almost himself. His father was heart broken, and was never the same after that. (You'll find out more about the circus accident through entries~ >u>)

His father decided to give up the circus life, taking Max with him to the Sarros region, specifically Senka City in the Lochesh province, where they could start a new life without his mother. Max was able to cope rather well with the death, unlike his father, mostly due to his naturally happy and flamboyant nature. He had always enjoyed battling for fun, and it was something that his mother had always loved to watch him do, praising him whenever he won, and praising him just the same whenever he didn't. After moving to Sarros and hearing about the tournament to decide the new Champion, Max became serious about battling, aspiring to one day enter the tournament and become Champion, all in honor of his mother. To accomplish this, he eventually enrolled into the Nightingale Manor boarding school, which he deemed to be the best place in Sarros to sharpen his skills.

Misc: Having been part of the circus, Max was taught some pretty silly things. He's a very, very good juggler, and this is the main skill he shows off (usually trying to impress a lady.) Other things he can do include riding on a unicycle, walking on his hands, making balloon animals, and his mom taught him some acrobatics. Because of that, he is quite flexible and an avid climber, and has no fear of heights. He does, however, have a terrible fear of open flames, and just fire in general, due to the fire that ended in the death of his mother. Because of this, he also tries to avoid Pokemon that have fire on their bodies, and when around them is very cautious and uncharacteristically timid.

Name: Giggles

Species: Shiny Drifloon

Gender: Male

Nature: Jolly

Characteristic: Somewhat of a clown

Ability: Aftermath

Moveset: Calm Mind ; Shadow Ball ; Will-O-Wisp ; Thunderbolt

Misc: Max met Giggles in the Sinnoh region at the age of the 10 whenever his father's circus stopped near Valley Windworks. The silly little balloon was causing trouble for the circus performers, pulling small pranks on the circus Pokemon and upsetting them. Max was the one who managed to catch the little guy, who quickly took a liking to him. He was given the name Giggles due to the fact that the small Pokemon is almost constantly... Well, giggling. After learning Max's middle name, he started calling him Hankie, and now that's how he always refers to him (Much to Max's dismay.) Despite plenty of training, Giggles has yet to evolve for unknown reasons. He tends to stay out of his Pokeball a lot, and is still quite the prankster sometimes.

He has a small piece of lace for +Defense that he wears tied around his "arm" in a knot during battle. (I'll add it to the app when I'm not being lazy |I)

Name: Guiniveve (Guinny)

Species: Froslass

Gender: Female

Nature: Careful

Characteristic: Somewhat Vain

Ability: Snow Cloak

Moveset: Taunt ; Ice Beam ; Ominous Wind ; Double Team

Misc: Max caught Guiniveve as a Snorunt here in the Sarros region, and the two didn't get along very well right away. Actually, they still don't get along very well. Guinny is a very serious and proper Pokemon, a little bit stuck up, and she always has been. She hates losing, and tends to blame Max, who she refers to as Maxwell, for any losses that are had. She's the one who keeps everyone focused while training, mostly having to keep Giggles and Max from goofing off. While Giggles loves her (He loves everyone, mind you) she hates him, and sees him as a nuisance and is easily frustrated by him. Her feelings for Rune are neutral, as she sees him as a respectable Pokemon.

She wears gloves for +Sp. Defense

Name: Rune

Species: Mightyena

Gender: Male

Nature: Adamant

Characteristic: A little quick tempered

Ability: Intimidate

Moveset: Payback ; Crunch ; Toxic ; Super Fang

Misc: Rune was Max's very first Pokemon, given to him as a Poochyena by his mom whenever he was only seven years old. Back then, he was as happy, quirky, and fun loving as Max was, going with him wherever he went. His main purpose was to keep Max safe, which was a task that Max's mother gave him. Rune took this to heart. The day of the accident that killed Max's mother, Max too would have been killed if it weren't for Rune, who while risking his own life pulled Max, unconscious from inhaling smoke, out of the burning tent before it collapsed. It was during this that Rune evolved into a Mightyena, and also when he earned the long scar on his face from a falling piece of burning circus equipment. After this tragic event, Rune lost his liveliness, and became distant and cold to everyone except for Max. Still, even to Max, he was never the same fun loving Pokemon he use to be. He keeps an aura of anger around him to keep people and Pokemon alike from bothering him. The only Pokemon he tolerates is Giggles, who spends a lot of time trying to make the sullen Mightyena happy. His relationship with Guiniveve is more businesslike than anything.
